Observations Prior To Unsatisfactory Rating Clause Samples

The "Observations Prior To Unsatisfactory Rating" clause establishes a requirement that certain observations or evaluations must be conducted before an unsatisfactory rating can be formally assigned. In practice, this means that an individual—such as an employee or contractor—must be observed performing their duties, and these observations are typically documented and communicated to the individual before any negative rating is issued. This process ensures fairness and transparency by providing the individual with an opportunity to address or correct any issues identified during the observation period, thereby preventing arbitrary or unsupported negative evaluations.
Observations Prior To Unsatisfactory Rating. At least three scheduled classroom observations will take place before a unit member is given an unsatisfactory summative evaluation. However, an unsatisfactory evaluation may be issued after three scheduled classroom observations even though the unsatisfactory conduct or performance was not observed in the classroom, provided that it was documented by the evaluator and shared with the unit member.
