OVERTIME BASIS Clause Samples
The OVERTIME BASIS clause defines the terms under which employees are compensated for hours worked beyond their standard work schedule. Typically, this clause specifies the rate of pay for overtime hours, such as time-and-a-half or double time, and outlines which hours or days qualify as overtime, for example, work performed beyond 40 hours in a week or on designated holidays. Its core practical function is to ensure fair compensation for additional work and to provide clear guidelines for both employers and employees regarding overtime pay, thereby reducing disputes and ensuring compliance with labor laws.
