Overtime will Clause Samples

The "Overtime will" clause defines the conditions under which overtime work is recognized and compensated. Typically, it specifies the circumstances that qualify as overtime, such as hours worked beyond the standard workweek, and outlines the rate of pay or compensatory time employees are entitled to for such hours. This clause ensures that employees are fairly compensated for extra work and helps employers comply with labor laws, thereby preventing disputes over pay and working hours.
Overtime will begin when the elapsed time from time of departure from initial passenger station until time of arrival at final passenger station exceeds the miles run divided by 20.
Overtime will apply where a staff member is directed to work outside the agreed bandwidth or directed to undertake work between 7.30 am and 8.00 am and/or after 6.00 pm.
Overtime will not be credited nor will salary be deducted during the fall when the clocks are turned back, or in the Spring when the clocks are turned forward.
Overtime will be paid for at the following rates: (a) Time and one-half (1½ x) for the first two (2) hours worked in excess of nine (9) hours in a day and double (2x) time thereafter. (b) Double time (2x) for all hours worked on holidays as defined in Section 17 - Holidays. (c) Time and one-half (1½ x) for the first eleven (11) hours worked on an employee’s scheduled day off and double time (2x) for all time worked on any subsequent days off during that week. (d) Double time (2x) for all hours worked in excess of forty-eight (48) hours in a week.
Overtime will be paid for at the following rates: (a) Double time (2x) for all hours worked in excess of twelve (12) in a shift. (b) Double time (2x) for all hours worked on holidays as defined in Section 17 - Holidays. (c) Time and one-half (1½ x) for the first twelve (12) hours worked on an employee’s scheduled day off and double time (2x) for all time worked on any subsequent days off during that week.

  • Overtime Overtime will begin to accrue after sixty (60) hours in a two (2) week period averaged over the scheduling period determined by the local parties. Overtime will apply if the employee works in excess of the normal daily hours. Payment for overtime is as in Article 16.01.

  • Overtime Hours Except as otherwise provided in this section, all hours worked in excess of the established work day, before or after an employee's regular scheduled shift, or on any regularly scheduled day off, shall be considered overtime. All paid vacation time, paid holidays, paid sick leave, compensatory time off, and paid leaves of absence shall be considered as "time worked" for purposes of this Article. Part-time employees whose established work day is less than eight (8) hours shall not be considered to be working overtime until having completed eight (8) hours of work.

  • Overtime Equalization The assignment of overtime shall be reasonably equalized within classifications. The normal maximum hours officers will be scheduled is (15) fifteen hours. Upon field training competition, probationary officers will begin their total overtime hours on the overtime equalization chart at the average of all members within the officer classification. An overtime equalization chart shall be maintained within the department. The chart shall list all overtime offers and each officer’s declined and accepted hours for each particular offer. Each time an officer is offered overtime, the number of overtime hours worked, or the number of hours declined, will be credited to officer’s chart. The overtime equalization chart shall be posted monthly.

  • Overtime Pay ‌ Overtime pay shall be paid to the employee on the next paycheque after the expiration of the pay period in which the overtime was earned except as provided in Article 16.6 (Compensating Time Off) below.

  • Overtime Meals When employees are required to work more than two (2) hours beyond their regular work days, the Employer will provide hot meals at no cost to the employees, up to a maximum of sixteen dollars ($16.00) (receipts to be submitted) plus paid meal periods of one-half (1/2) hour at the prevailing rate and thereafter at four (4) hour intervals. Any early morning start before regular starting time is entitled to a paid meal. The breakfast limit is thirteen dollars ($13.00) (receipts to be submitted). Employees called out on overtime shall be paid for meals as above, after four (4) hours work.
