Pay Differentials. 1. Out of Class Pay a. General employees: An employee who is assigned in writing, by the department head or supervisor, to work in a higher classification during the fiscal year for three (3) or more cumulative working days within two (2) consecutive pay periods will be paid at the salary schedule for the higher classification at the lowest step or 5 percent above the current salary, whichever is higher.
