Preceptor Differential. Effective with the first pay period following ratification of this Agreement, a nurse assigned as a preceptor will be paid a differential of $1.00 per hour worked as a preceptor. A preceptor is a nurse who is designated by his/her nurse manager to assess the learning needs of a nurse for a specified period of time; plan the nurse’s learning program; implement the program; provide direct guidance and supervision to the nurse during the program; and, in conjunction with the nurse manager and/or designee, evaluate the nurse’s progress during the program. This differential will not be paid for any unworked hours or for any hours when the nurse is not working as a preceptor.

For Hospital employees, the nurse during manager, the program; andpreceptor, in conjunction with and the preceptee, will meet regularly to evaluate the nurse manager and/or designee, evaluate the nursepreceptee’s progress during the programprogram (orientation). This differential will not be paid for any unworked hours or for any hours when the nurse is not working as a preceptor. Nurses working as preceptors shall have these additional preceptor responsibilities considered in their regular patient care assignment.
