Principle of Seniority. The principle of seniority is to give preference to employees and former employees covered by this Agreement in the matter of promotions, demotions, layoffs, job postings, and recall after layoff, in accordance with their accredited continuous service in the hourly bargaining unit.

Short-Hour employees on the payroll as of March 1, 1976 shall be automatically considered eligible Short-Hour employees. When choosing among Casual employees for casual work, the Employer will use its best efforts to assign that work on the basis of seniority.
