Common use of PROFESSIONAL GRIEVANCE PROCEDURE Clause in Contracts

PROFESSIONAL GRIEVANCE PROCEDURE. A. An allegation by a teacher or the Association that there has been a violation, misinterpretation or misapplication of any provisions of this agreement may be processed as a grievance as hereinafter provided. B. In the event that a teacher believes there is a basis for a grievance, he/she shall first discuss the alleged grievance with his/her building Principal either personally or accompanied by his/her Association representative. C. If, as a result of the informal discussion with the building Principal, a grievance still exists, he/she may invoke the formal grievance procedure through the Association. The grievant must file the formal grievance within 30 calendar days of occurrence on the form set forth in the Schedule D signed by the grievant and a representative of the Association, which form shall be available from the Association. A copy of the grievance form shall be delivered to the Principal. If the grievance involves more than one building, it may be filed with the Superintendent. D. STEP I
