Common use of PROFESSIONAL GRIEVANCE PROCEDURE Clause in Contracts

PROFESSIONAL GRIEVANCE PROCEDURE. 2.01.1 A claim by a teacher, teachers, or the Association (thereafter called the grievant) that there has been a violation, misinterpretation, or misapplication of this Agreement may be processed as a grievance. The written Agreement entered into between the Board of Education and the Association, setting forth the understanding of the parties upon those matters negotiated and agreed to, is subject to final and binding arbitration. 2.01.2 In the event that the grievant believes there is a basis for a grievance, he/she shall first discuss the alleged grievance with the immediate administrator who has the authority to bring about a resolution of this alleged problem, either personally or accompanied by an Association representative. 2.01.3 If, as a result of the informal discussion with the appropriate administrator, a grievance still exists, the grievant may invoke the following formal grievance steps.
