Purposes of Leave. The program submitted for all types of leave (formal study, independent study, travel) shall include definite plans to: (1) increase knowledge in the field of the employee’s subjects; (2) improve teaching, consultant or administrative techniques; or (3) provide for a broadened cultural background that may increase the value of the individual as an educator.
Purposes of Leave. 3.7.2.1. The birth of a child and to care for a newborn child, provided the leave is taken no later than twelve (12) months after the birth of the child; 3.7.2.2. The placement of a child with the employee for adoption or ▇▇▇▇▇▇ care provided the leave is taken no later than twelve (12) months after the placement of the child; 3.7.2.3. Because the employee is needed to care for his/her spouse, parent, or child with a serious health condition; or 3.7.2.4. The treatment of an employee's own serious health condition that makes the employee unable to perform the functions of the job.
Purposes of Leave. It is understood by the parties that leaves of absence are to be used for the purpose intended, and employees shall make their intent known when applying for such leaves. It shall be grounds for discipline for an employee to falsify the reason for a leave of absence. All leaves of absence shall be without pay unless specifically provided to the contrary by the provisions in this contract.

  • Abuse of Leave If it is found that a leave is not actually being used for the purpose for which it was granted, the Employer may cancel the leave and direct the employee to report for work by giving written notice to the employee.

  • Types of Leave Employees shall be entitled to the following temporary noncumulative leaves of absence with full pay each school year.

  • Accrual of Leave An employee’s entitlement to paid annual leave accrues progressively during a year of service according to the employee’s ordinary hours of work, and accumulates from year to year.

  • Use of Leave An employee does not need to use this leave entitlement in one block. Leave can be taken intermittently or on a reduced leave schedule when medically necessary. Employees must make reasonable efforts to schedule leave for planned medical treatment so as not to unduly disrupt the employer’s operations. Leave due to qualifying exigencies may also be taken on an intermittent basis.

  • Taking of leave (a) Annual leave shall be given and shall be taken within a period of six months after the date when the right to annual leave accrued; provided that the giving and taking of such leave may be postponed by mutual agreement between the parties for a further period not exceeding six months. (b) Where an employee requests, annual leave can be taken in single days. (c) The employer shall provide a response within a reasonable timeframe giving consideration to the urgency of the application to an employee’ application for annual leave.
