Recognition of Previous Experience. ‌ B2.01 The rate of pay for new employees who have, and are able to certify to the satisfaction of the Employer, relevant previous working experience in their professional field shall be: a) Less than two years experience Step 1: b) Two or more but less than three years experience Step 2; c) Three or more but less than four years experience Step 3: d) Four or more but less than five years experience Step 4: e) Five or more but less than six years experience Step 5; f) Six or more but less than seven years experience Step 6; g) Seven or more but less than eight years experience Step 7; h) Eight or more but less than nine years experience Step 8; i) Nine or more years experience Step 9; provided that not more than 5 years have elapsed since such experience was acquired.

Recognition of Previous Experience. The Employer will recognize recent related experience on the basis of one (1) annual increment for each one (1) year of service up to the maximum of the grid. Part-time service shall be recognized on the basis of fifteen hundred (1500) hours paid in previous employment equals one (1) year of service. It shall be the responsibility of a newly hired employee to provide reasonable proof of recent and related experience in order to be considered for a salary increment, and if she fails to do so she shall not be entitled to recognition. This provision shall apply to all current employees at July 01, 2001.

Recognition of Previous Experience. 27.01 When an Employee has experience satisfactory to the Employer, the Employee’s starting salary shall be adjusted as follows: (a) Experience prior to a five (5) year lapse will not be recognized. (b) All experience satisfactory to the Employer shall be recognized on a one-for-one basis, up to the top increment in the salary scale. (c) If a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse has completed a nursing refresher course within the past 12 months, the Employer will recognize experience that is more than five (5) years old. 27.02 Additional time worked and not credited for purposes of initial placement on the salary scale, shall be applied towards the calculation of the next increment.

Recognition of Previous Experience. When a Nurse has produced proof or evidence of his/her previous satisfactory recent nursing experience, placement on the salary scale in Appendix "A" shall be in accordance with the following provisions. Recognition of previous experience will only be deemed as satisfactory and recent where the Nurse has not been away from active nursing for more five (5) years. One year of satisfactory recent nursing experience for the purpose of initial placement of a Nurse on the salary scale shall be equivalent to 1950 regular hours paid. (a) A Nurse with less than one (1) year of satisfactory recent nursing experience shall be placed at the start rate of the salary scale of Appendix "A". (b) A Nurse with a minimum of one (1) year of satisfactory recent nursing experience shall be placed at the one (1) year rate of the salary scale of Appendix "A". (c) A Nurse with a minimum of two (2) years of satisfactory recent nursing experience shall be placed at the two (2) year rate of the salary scale of Appendix "A". (d) A Nurse with a minimum of three (3) years of satisfactory recent nursing experience shall be placed at the three (3) year rate of the salary scale of Appendix "A". (e) A Nurse with a minimum of four (4) years of satisfactory recent nursing experience shall be placed at the four (4) year rate of the salary scale of Appendix "A". (f) A Nurse with a minimum of five (5) years or more of satisfactory recent nursing experience shall be placed at the five (5) year rate of the salary scale of Appendix "A". (g) A Registered Nurse with twenty-five (25) years or more of satisfactory recent nursing experience shall be placed at the twenty-five (25) year rate of the salary scale of Appendix “A”.

Recognition of Previous Experience. Employees commencing employment, or commencing employment in a position never held previously, who have previous experience acceptable to the Employer shall be placed on the salary range in accordance with the following: (a) Less than one (1) year of experience in the three (3) years immediately preceding the date of employment shall be placed at step 1. (b) One (1) year of experience in the three (3) years immediately preceding the date of employment shall be placed at step 2. (c) Two (2) years of experience in the four (4) years immediately preceding the date of employment shall be placed on step 3. (d) Three (3) years of experience in the five (5) years immediately preceding the date of employment shall be placed at step 4. (e) Four (4) years of experience in the six (6) years immediately preceding the date of employment shall be placed at step 5. Notwithstanding the above, the Employer reserves the right to exceed the above guidelines where it is deemed necessary. Where previous experience has been obtained through recent service in other than full-time employment, recognition of such previous experience will be based on the number of hours paid. One (1) year experience will be recognized for each full year of recent service, according to the full-time hours for that classification as defined in Article 15. An Employee promoted to a higher classification in accordance with Article 21.10 will have their salary determined in accordance with the above provision or article 21.10, whichever is greater.

Recognition of Previous Experience. 15.01 Salary recognition shall be granted for work experience satisfactory to the Employer (including experience in the private sector and experience gained internationally) provided not more than three (3) years have elapsed since such experience was obtained as outlined in the following guidelines: For regulated professions, the Employer may recognize work experience notwithstanding a break in service of more than three (3) years if the Employee has fulfilled the licensing requirements of the Employee’s professional body to maintain standing in that profession. (a) one (1) annual increment for two thousand and twenty-two point seven five (2022.75) hours experience within the last six (6) years; (b) two (2) annual increments for four thousand and forty five point five (4045.5) hours experience within the last seven (7) years; (c) three (3) annual increments for six thousand and sixty eight point two five (6068.25) hours experience within the last eight (8) years; (d) four (4) annual increments for eight thousand and ninety one (8091) hours experience within the last nine (9) years; (e) five (5) annual increments for ten thousand one hundred and thirteen point seven five (10,113.75) hours experience within the last ten (10) years; (f) six (6) annual increments for twelve thousand one hundred and thirty six point five (12,136.5) hours experience within the last eleven (11) years; (g) seven (7) annual increments for fourteen thousand one hundred and fifty nine point two five (14,159.25) hours experience within the last twelve (12) years; (h) eight (8) annual increments for sixteen thousand one hundred and eighty- two (16,182) regular hours of work experience within the last thirteen (13) years; (i) nine (9) annual increments for eighteen thousand two hundred and four point seven five (18,204.75) regular hours of work experience within the last fourteen (14) years. 15.02 Additional hours worked and not credited for purposes of initial placement on the salary scale shall be applied towards the calculation of the next increment. 15.03 The Employer shall advise all employees in writing at the time of hire as to the pay grade and step in the Salary Appendix, including reference to the recognition of previous experience.

Recognition of Previous Experience. Nurses newly hired into the bargaining unit shall be placed at the appropriate step of the applicable wage scale based upon a year-for-year relevant experience credit determined in accordance with Section 8.3 of the Agreement.
