Recognition - The Collective Bargaining Unit. 1. The City recognizes the Union as the sole and exclusive bargaining representative of a bargaining unit consisting of all permanent, full-time Corrections Officers, formerly known as Civil Jail Matrons, employed by the Employer, but excluding all other employees of the Employer. The SERB certification number is 99-REP-05-0109 and it was certified June 3, 1999. 2. Whenever the word "Employee" is used in this Agreement, it shall be deemed to mean the employees in the bargaining unit covered by this Agreement, as defined in Article 1, Section 1 hereof.
