Recognition - The Collective Bargaining Unit. Section 1. The Employer recognizes the Union as the sole and exclusive collective bargaining representative of a bargaining unit consisting of all full-time Sergeants and Lieutenants but excluding the Police Captains, Assistant Chief of Police, Police Chief, and all supervisory and managerial Employees as defined in the Act and all other Employees. Section 2. Whenever the word "Employee" is used in this Agreement, it shall be deemed to mean the Employees in the bargaining unit covered by this Agreement, as defined in Article I, Section 1 hereof. Section 3. For intent, the word "Union", when used in this Agreement shall mean the Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 186.

Section 2. Whenever the word "Employee" is used in this Agreement, it shall be deemed to mean the Employees in the bargaining unit covered by this Agreement, as defined in Article I, Section 1 hereof.
Section 3. For intent, the word "Union", when used in this Agreement shall mean the Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 186.
