Common use of Reduction by Attrition Clause in Contracts

Reduction by Attrition. Any reduction in staff will first be accomplished through attrition insofar as it is possible to do so (i.e., the number of persons affected by a reduction in staff will be kept to a minimum by not employing replacements for employees who retire or resign). The employment of replacements for some positions may be necessary, however, in the event that employees in the District do not possess the necessary certification for a position that needs to be filled.
