REPLACEMENT OF PERSONAL ITEMS. Section 1. The City shall provide for the repair or replacement of personal property lost or damaged in the performance of duty. Items of personal property and dollar ceilings shall be limited to the following:
Section 2. Claims under Section 1 must be initiated by verbal contact with the claimant's Assigned Chief within twenty-four (24) hours of the loss and a written account provided to the Assistant Fire Chief within forty-eight (48) hours of loss.
REPLACEMENT OF PERSONAL ITEMS. 15.1 The City will reimburse Unit members for lost and/or damaged personal items subject to the following conditions:
15.2 Such items are required for the job, but not provided by the City.
15.3 The items are lost and/or damaged while the employee is on duty, in the course and scope of duty; the loss is not caused by the negligence of the employee.
15.4 Total reimbursement per employee pursuant to this policy shall not exceed one hundred ($100.00) per fiscal year. Subject to the same dollar limitation, reimbursement for civilian clothes shall be at the level equal to the comparable uniform component.
15.5 Reimbursement shall not be required where the employee's insurance covers the item.
15.6 Notwithstanding any of the above, this policy shall not apply to second or back-up weapons or personal vehicles not required by the Department to be utilized.
15.7 Utilization of this policy for any one incident constitutes a waiver of the right to pursue reimbursement for that item or incident from the City in other administrative or legal forums; otherwise the existence of this policy does not constitute a waiver of either party's defenses or remedies in connection with additional incidents during the same fiscal year.

There shall be no replacement of personal items damaged in the performance of the employee’s duties except at the sole discretion of the Employer, but in no event shall the Employer pay over fifty dollars ($50.00) for any replacement. The only exception to this shall be for prescription eyeglasses which are damaged in the course of an emergency response or providing patient care. Upon presentation of verification of damage and receipt for replacement, the Employer may reimburse the employee the full cost of replacement of the same lenses and/or frame or repair to same.

REPLACEMENT OF PERSONAL ITEMS. The Board agrees to pay reasonable costs (excluding normal wear and tear) for replacement of personal items damaged or destroyed during performance of required duties.
REPLACEMENT OF PERSONAL ITEMS. The Employer shall provide all necessary equipment needed to perform the job as required by County EMS. The Employer agrees to repair or replace personal items worn by the employee that are damaged in the performance of the employees’ duties. The Employer shall not pay more than fifty dollars ($50.00) for any repair or replacement, except for prescription eyeglasses damaged in the course of an emergency response or while providing patient care. The Employer agrees to pay up to the approved allowance of the Employer’s Vision provided insurance in the event that repair or replacement is needed for prescription glasses.
REPLACEMENT OF PERSONAL ITEMS. If an employee's eyeglasses, contact lenses, dentures, hearing aid or artificial limb is destroyed or lost as a result of the employee performing his assigned job duties, the City may, if, in the City's sole discretion, the employee was acting in good faith and was performing his job in a safe and appropriate manner, assist the employee in the replacement of said personal item. The assistance in replacement shall be limited to the prorated remaining expected useful life of the item in question. The employee shall be required to provide proof of the original date of purchase of the item in question, together with a copy of the invoice for the replacement item. For the purposes of this Article the following will be used as the expected life of the listed items:

Personal articles not covered by another insurance plan that are destroyed, damaged, or stolen in the line of duty will be replaced or repaired by the Employer at the Employer’s expense. Personal articles are defined as watches, eye glasses, dentures, contact lenses and any other article approved by the Employer.
