Use of Personal Vehicle. An employee who is requested or receives approval from an authorized representative of his/her Employer to use his/her personal vehicle for the convenience of his/her Employer shall be reimbursed at $0.40 per road-driven kilometer travelled for such use of his/her vehicle.

By virtue of this Article, employees are advised that before accepting to use their personal vehicle while conducting the Employer’s business they should discuss the possible need to increase insurance coverage accordingly.
(b) All travel/mileage shall be approved by the Department Commissioner or their designate and submitted to the Corporate Services Department for payment each month.
(c) Employees shall in any event not be compensated for the distance travelled to report to work or to return home from work.
(d) When employees are being asked to travel on Corporation business in their personal vehicle and they will not be reporting to their regular reporting location when traveling to special events or conferences they shall be reimbursed for the travel from their home to such events or the distance between such events and the normal reporting location whichever distance is shorter.

Whenever an employee is authorized to use a personal vehicle in the performance of official City duties, the employee shall be compensated at the rate established by the IRS as the maximum allowable rate for business travel. All mileage compensated shall be as a result of authorized personal vehicle use. "Authorized" means approved by the employee's Department Head or the City Manager/designee. The City will verify and announce the allowable IRS rate as of January 1 of each year. Employees who are required to use a personal vehicle for City use must provide proof of insurance as required by state statute when requested by the City.
Use of Personal Vehicle. 18.1 Employees shall be paid at the IRS rate per mile for: (a) use of their personal vehicle in connection with their work when specifically directed by his/her supervisor; or (b) use of their personal vehicle when assigned to work at another job site other than their usual assignment or to multiple work sites within the same eight (8) hour shift (payment for mileage between work sites only). This provision does not apply to substitutes unless the substitute is specifically directed to report to the service building at the beginning of a shift.
