Common use of Representation/Reprisals Clause in Contracts

Representation/Reprisals. a. A grievant may be represented at all stages of the grievance by an Association representative(s). b. No reprisals will be taken against any party by reason of such participation in the grievance procedure. c. When it is necessary for a representative designated by the Association to process a grievance or to attend a grievance meeting or hearing during the day, he/she will be released without loss of pay in order to permit participation in the foregoing activities. The District shall attempt to schedule grievance meetings and hearings at times which do not conflict with instructional duties. Any bargaining unit member or grievant who is requested by the District to appear in investigations, meetings, or hearings as a witness will be accorded the same right.
