Common use of Required Rest Period Clause in Contracts

Required Rest Period. Any employee who works over sixteen (16) hours continuous work shall receive no less than eight (8) hours of uninterrupted rest before reporting back to work. In addition, the employee will receive a 1/2 hour travel time home and a 1/2 hour travel time to return to work (a total of one (1) hour travel time). Any employee who works over twenty-four (24) hours of continuous work shall receive no less than twelve (12) hours of uninterrupted rest before reporting back to work. Should said rest period overlap the employee's normal shift time, the employee will receive Administrative Leave for those hours during the required rest period, which overlap the employee's normal scheduled work shift.
