Common use of Scheduled PTO Clause in Contracts

Scheduled PTO. PTO used for this purpose will be paid out at the employee’s base hourly rate of pay and does not include any shift differentials, premium pay, or other work incentives. PTO is not part of any overtime calculations. Scheduled PTO is requested in advance and is subject to supervisory approval and department staffing needs. PTO must be requested prior to posting of the upcoming month’s schedule. All PTO requests shall be approved or denied in writing within fourteen (14) business days of having received the request. Requests will be considered on a first come, first served basis and will be approved or denied based on operational needs. If an employee needs to make a change to a PTO request once it has been submitted, they may do so until the monthly schedule has been posted; after that point, they may be asked to find their own coverage.
