Scheduling Vacations. The times during a calendar year at which an employee may take his/her vacation shall be determined by the department head with due regard for the wishes of the employee and particular regard for the needs of the service. An employee shall be required to take at least one (1) calendar week of earned vacation leave at one time, unless otherwise authorized by his/her department head.
