SECTION HOURS OF WORK. The General Booking of Transportation Operations Division employees shall take place four (4) times a year or more frequently if the City deems it necessary. The General Booking of Equipment Division employees shall take place two (2) times a year or more frequently if the City deems it necessary. Subject to the Booking Sheets, eighty (80) hours in a two (2) week pay period shall constitute the normal working hours. When overtime work is required, the City agrees to make every effort to arrange all overtime by seniority. All employees shall be available for emergency work whenever called for: emergency work being deemed to be such work as is not reasonably foreseeable. Employees shall not be obliged to work in excess of eight (8) hours during one day unless rates are paid as prescribed by this Agreement. Booked operators who voluntarily select additional work over and above their normal day’s work are required to continue such work for the remainder of the Booking or until satisfactory arrangements have been made with the Transportation Operations Division for such operator to be relieved of such work. Payments for standby time for spare operators, make-up time, pay-through time and allowances do not constitute work performed. They will not be included in the calculation of entitlement for overtime or days off unless specifically provided for elsewhere in this Agreement.
