Self-contained Model. The students stay in special education classroom 100% of the school day.
Self-contained Model. The District will limit the number of in-person stable group assignments for unit members to no more than two (2) stable groups per day and no more than four (4) stable groups per week. a. Crossover of students will be limited to pull out and small group instruction consistent with current CDPH and SFDPH health and safety guidelines. b. Stable groups will be no larger than original class size and small enough to meet social distancing requirements. If there are too many students in the classroom to maintain social distancing as required by section 9 of this MOU, students will be separated into two rooms. c. Students will attend classes at their home school, 4 or 5 days a week, mirroring the distance learning bell schedule. d. Students will attend in-person learning for 4 hours (240 minutes) for Middle School and High School. e. In alternative school settings, in-person learning may be reduced to 180 or 120 minutes with a corresponding increase in distance instruction to total 240 instructional minutes. f. When two (2) teachers are assigned to a Self-Contained class, and neither teacher qualifies for an accommodation under section 7 of this MOU, and the option within the class exists for one teacher to work remotely and the other teacher to work in-person, the teacher with greater seniority will be given the first choice of assignment.
