Shift curtailment. Shift curtailment occurs when an employee does not work a portion of his or her scheduled shift due to lack of work. Nurses will be allowed to finish work for the day including charting and other documentation. In procedure units, a reasonable effort will be made to provide advance notice; however, no such advance notice is required. The Employer will not adjust the regular start time(s) of a shift(s) to avoid double back eligibility as outlined in Section 9.2.
