Shift curtailment. Shift curtailment occurs when an employee 3 does not work a portion of his or her scheduled shift due to lack of work. Shift 4 curtailments may not be implemented for the beginning of the shift, unless by 5 mutual agreement. In non-procedure units, an employee’s shift may be curtailed 6 with a minimum of one (1) hour’s notice. In procedure units, a reasonable effort 7 will be made to provide advance notice; however, no such advance notice is 8 required. The Employer will not adjust the regular start time(s) of a shift(s) to 9 avoid double back eligibility as outlined in Section 9.2.
