Shift curtailment. Shift curtailment occurs when an employee does not work a portion of his or her scheduled shift due to lack of work. Shift curtailments may not be implemented for the beginning of the shift, unless by mutual agreement. In non- procedure units, an employee’s shift may be curtailed with a minimum of one (1) hour’s notice. In procedure units, a reasonable effort will be made to provide advance notice; however, no such advance notice is required.
