Smart Card Sample Clauses

Smart Card. 4.1. The User who has met the conditions of this Contract may collect a smart card in order to gain access to the use of the CAR4WAY System (hereinafter the “Smart Card”) in any of the Provider’s branches listed on the Provider’s web. The User may collect multiple Smart Cards based on the number of Authorised Persons. The Smart Card can be replaced or supplemented with other electronic means (a smartphone) if such a service is technically operated by the Provider. 4.2. The Smart Card may be issued to the User for the duration of the force and effect of this Contract. The Smart Card enables the User to unlock, use and lock a Car. 4.3. The Smart Card is non-transferrable and is issued by the Provider to the User’s Authorised Person only. The User is not entitled to provide the Smart Card to any person within the User other than the Authorised Person, nor transfer it between the Authorised Person, unless agreed by the Provider, and is not entitled to provide the Smart Card to any third person, especially not to rent, sub-rent, lend or leave the Card for the use of another, whether against payment or free of charge. If these conditions have been breached, the Provider is entitled to terminate this Contract with immediate effect. 4.4. The User is obliged to inform the Provider immediately of the loss, theft or damage of the Smart Card for the purposes of deactivation of the Smart Card by the Provider, otherwise the User will be liable for damage incurred by the breach of this obligation. In case of the loss, theft or damage of the Smart Card, the Provider will issue a replacement Smart Card to the User for the administrative fee of specified in the Pricelist. 4.5. The User is not entitled to examine, modify or intervene in the electronic system of the Smart Card in any way. 4.6. The Provider is entitled to block the User’s Smart Card, disabling the User to use the CAR4WAY System, in case of a material breach of this Contract or General Terms and Conditions of the CAR4WAY System, especially in case of outstanding receivables from the User, until the remedial measure has been taken. If the Smart Card is replaced or supplemented with other electronic means (a smartphone, payment card), the Provider may disable the access and use of the CAR4WAY System similarly in case of a material breach of this Contract or General Terms and Conditions of the CAR4WAY System, especially in case of outstanding receivables from the User, until the remedial measure has been taken.
Smart Card. Smart cards are small, portable, tamper-resistant devices providing users with convenient storage and processing capability. Because of their unique form factor, smart cards are proposed for use in a wide variety of applications such as electronic commerce, identification, and health care. The majority of the smartcards on the market today have between 128 and 1024 bytes of RAM, 1 and 16 kilobytes of EEPROM, and 6 and 16 kilobytes of ROM with the traditional 8-bit CPU typically clocked at a mere 3.57 megahertz. To be practical for widespread use, however, smart cards also need to be inexpensive. Any addition to memory or processing capacity increases the cost of each card because both are extremely cost sensitive. Smart cards are also slow transmitters, so to achieve acceptable application speeds, data elements must be small. Thus ECC is a perfect choice for smart cards for the following reasons [9]: The strength of the ECDLP algorithm means that strong security is achievable with proportionately smaller key and certificate sizes. The smaller key size in turn means that less EEPROM is required to store keys and certificates and that less data needs to be passed between the card and the application so that transmission times are shorter. As smart card applications require stronger security, ECC can continue to provide the security with proportionately fewer additional system resources without increasing their cost. Other public -key systems involve so much computation that a dedicated hardware device known as a crypto coprocessor is required. The crypto coprocessors not only take up precious space, they add about 20 to 30 percent to the cost of the chip. With ECC, the algorithm can be implemented in available ROM, so no additional hardware is required to perform strong, fast authentication. With ECC, the time needed to generate a key pair is so short that even a device with the very limited computing power of a smart card can generate the key pair, provided a good random number generator is available. In this paper, we had proposed a design for remote authentication key agreement scheme based on ECC using smart cards. We discuss the elliptic curve cryptography in section 2. In section 3 we present the scheme. In section 4, we show the security analysis. In section 5 we show the cost and functionality consideration among our scheme and the related schemes. Finally, we make a conclusion in Section 6.

If you wish to pay for goods or services over the Internet, you may be required to provide card number security information before you will be permitted to complete the transaction. You agree that you will not use your card for any transaction that is illegal under applicable federal, state, or local law. Funds to cover your card purchases will be deducted from your share draft account. For ATM and one-time debit card transactions, you must consent to the Credit Union’s overdraft protection plan in order for the transaction amount to be covered under the plan. • The Card You acknowledge and agree that the Card is a general purpose multicurrency reloadable prepaid card. The Card is neither a gift card (nor intended to be used for gifting purposes), a credit card, nor a deposit account debit card. The monetary value accessible through use of the Card is limited to the funds that you have previously loaded to the Card or that have been loaded to the Card on your behalf by CAPES or CNPQ. The Card is not and does not access an individual bank “account” for purposes of certain laws and regulations (including, but not limited to, Regulation E and Regulation DD of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau). However, we may use the term “account” and related terms for convenience from time to time when communicating with you about the Card and transactions and inquiries made with the Card. You may access the funds loaded to the Card and perform Card transactions only as described in this Agreement. You cannot link the Card to any deposit or credit account that you may have with us or with any other financial institution, except as provided in this Agreement. You may not obtain or write checks or drafts to access Card funds. You will not receive any interest on funds loaded to the Card. In our sole discretion we may refuse to issue a Card to anyone for any reason. Your Card cannot be redeemed for cash. We may provide you with a non-personalized temporary Card for immediate use pending the delivery to you of a personalized Card bearing your name. The transactions and uses described in this Agreement are generally available for the temporary Card. However, because your name will not appear on the front of the temporary Card, merchants who require identity verification may be unwilling to accept a temporary Card. Notwithstanding any expiration date that may appear on the temporary Card, the temporary Card will no longer be valid for use upon the earlier of (i) 90 days after the issuance of the temporary Card or (ii) your activation of the personalized Card that is delivered to you. Upon activation of your personalized Card, any funds remaining on the temporary Card will be available on your personalized Card. By activating your personalized card you are accepting the Terms and Conditions of this product. Your Card may be loaded with funds in such currency or currencies as we may permit from time to time (each a “Card Currency”). If you use your Card in respect of a transaction in a Card Currency, the funds maintained on your Card in such Card Currency will be utilized for such transaction. If insufficient funds in such Card Currency exist on your Card, funds in other Card Currencies will be converted to the applicable transaction Card Currency in accordance with procedures outlined in Section 14 below. Transactions for which a currency is not referenced will be processed as a transaction in the default currency established for your Card (the “Default Card Currency”).
