Common use of Soil Testing Clause in Contracts

Soil Testing. 4.14.4.1. Furnish all material, labor, and equipment necessary to perform soil tests. 4.14.4.2. The Contractor shall perform the following steps to gather appropriate material for testing (collectively, “Sampling”): 4.14.4.2.1. Make a composite sample (5-7 samples per planter area from a minimum of 3 planter areas per 3-block segment). 4.14.4.2.2. Use a soil tube, auger, or spade to collect the sample. 4.14.4.2.3. Sample depth: Turf grass - 4”; Flowers/shrubs - 4-6”; Trees - 6-8”. 4.14.4.2.4. Mix the composite sample in a clean pail. 4.14.4.2.5. Save two cups of sample in a sample bag and fill out label. 4.14.4.2.6. Submit a completed information sheet with each sample. 4.14.4.2.7. Insure that soil samples are not tainted by mulch.
