SPECIALTY ASSIGNMENT PAY. 12.1 The City and Association recognize that special assignments out of the scope of the covered classifications of Police Officer, Senior Police Officer, and Police Sergeant will at times be required for the efficient operation of the department, and therefore these special assignments and their associated specialty assignment compensation are listed below. The parties agree, to the extent permitted by law, the compensation in this section is special compensation and shall be reported as such pursuant to Title 2 California Code of Regulations, Section 571.

The parties agree, According to the extent permitted by law, the compensation in this section is special compensation and shall be reported as such pursuant to Title 2 California Code of Regulations, Section 571Regulations Sections 571(a) and (b) the premium and special pays herein will be reported to CalPERS as special compensation.
