Standard Overtime. a. Overtime at the rate of one and one-half (1 1/2) times the regular rate of pay shall be paid as follows: (1) For hours worked in excess of forty (40) within any normal week, or (2) For hours worked in excess of ten (10) in any twenty-four (24) hour period provided the employee works forty hours in that pay period. (3) Employees will be paid overtime at a straight-time rate until such time as he/she has worked forty hours in that pay period. b. Overtime pay at the rate of two (2) times the regular rate shall be paid for all work performed on the seventh consecutive day (Saturday and or Sunday) worked in the normal work week. c. Employees will in no case receive more compensation for vacation, holidays, short term disability, jury duty, or other paid absences that would normally be received by working a normal 8 hour schedule. d. No employee working under this agreement will receive a windfall under the contract by working a 10 hour shift as opposed to the normal 8 hour schedule. e. Temporary changes in the permanent work schedules will not be made for the purpose of avoiding overtime payment.
