Common use of State Auditor’s Right to Audit Clause in Contracts

State Auditor’s Right to Audit. Contractor understands that acceptance of funds under this Agreement constitutes acceptance of the authority of the State of Texas Auditor's Office or any successor agency (“Auditor”), to conduct an audit or investigation in connection with those funds. Contractor shall cooperate with the State Auditor’s Office in the conduct of the audit or investigation, including providing all records requested. Contractor shall ensure that this paragraph concerning the State’s authority to audit funds received indirectly by subcontractors through Contractor and the requirement to cooperate is included in any subcontract it awards. Additionally, the State Auditor’s Office shall at any time have access to and the rights to examine, audit, excerpt, and transcribe any pertinent books, documents, audit documentation, and records of the Contractor relating to this Contract for any purpose.
