Stewards and Alternates. A. The Board recognizes the right of the Union to appoint and/or elect from the seniority list one ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ representing Bus Drivers and one ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ representing Mechanics and their appropriate alternates. Their duties and responsibilities shall include cooperative efforts to develop and ▇▇▇▇▇▇ positive employee-employer relationships, as well as the presentation of grievances with the Board and/or its representatives. B. To facilitate the discharge of said responsibilities and duties, the Board agrees to permit the ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ of the bargaining unit per grievance presentation release time from employment duties without loss of time or pay, in accordance with the terms or this contract agreement, reasonable time to present grievances to the employer after first obtaining permission from his/her immediate supervisor with the understanding that this will not be abused. C. The authority of stewards and alternates so designated by the Union shall be limited to and not exceed the following duties and activities: 1. The presentation of grievances with the Board or its designee in accordance with the provisions of this bargaining agreement. Permission may be granted by the immediate supervisor and/or his/her designee in the presentation of said grievance. 2. The transmission of messages and information originating with or authorized by the Union or its officers and provided such messages have: a. Been reduced to writing; or b. If not reduced to writing, are of a routine nature and do not involve work stoppages, slowdowns, refusal to handle goods, or any other interference with the Board's business. D. A ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ or alternate ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ of the bargaining unit will be allowed proper time off to attend all formal grievance procedures under this collective bargaining agreement except arbitration. E. The Board shall be notified by the Union in writing of the names of the stewards and alternates. Alternates shall serve only in the absences of the regularly assigned ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇. F. The authority of the Union ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ shall be limited to the acts or functions which said stewards are authorized to perform in this Agreement.

Their duties and responsibilities shall include cooperative efforts to develop the investigation and ▇▇▇▇▇▇ positive employee-employer relationships, as well as the presentation of grievances with the Board and/or its representatives. During contract time two (2) Stewards will be elected for negotiation purposes.
B. To facilitate Stewards will investigate grievances during non-working hours. However, in the case of discharge and/or in the case of said responsibilities and dutiesa ten (10) day or more suspension, the Board agrees to permit the ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ of the bargaining unit per grievance presentation release time from employment duties will be permitted, without loss of time or pay, in accordance with during regular working hours, to investigate the terms or this contract agreement, reasonable time incident and present the grievance to present grievances to the employer after first obtaining permission from his/her immediate supervisor with supervisor, if such time is approved by the understanding that this will not be abusedemployee’s immediate supervisor.
C. Employees who are discharged will be given the opportunity to meet with the ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ prior to leaving the Employer’s property.
D. The authority of stewards Stewards and alternates so designated by the Union shall be limited to and not to exceed the following duties and activities:.
(1. ) The investigation and presentation of grievances with the Board or its designee designee, in accordance with the provisions of this bargaining agreementAgreement. Permission may be granted by the immediate supervisor and/or his/her his designee in the proper investigation and presentation of said grievance.
(2. ) The transmission of messages and information originating with or authorized by the Union or its officers and provided such messages have:
a. Been been reduced to writing; or,
b. If if not reduced to writing, are of a routine nature and do not involve work stoppages, slowdowns, refusal to handle goods, or any other interference with the Board's business.
D. A (1) Stewards will be allowed time off to attend grievances at Step 4.
(2) For the purpose of layoff and recall, the ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ or alternate shall head the seniority list, provided he/she has the present ability to perform the work available.
(3) The Board shall be notified by the Union, in writing, of the names of the ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ of the bargaining unit will be allowed proper time off to attend all formal grievance procedures under this collective bargaining agreement except arbitrationand alternates.
E. The Board shall be notified by the Union in writing of the names of the stewards and alternates. a. Alternates shall serve only in the absences absence of the regularly assigned ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇.
F. (4) The authority of the Union ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ shall be limited to the acts or functions which said stewards Stewards are authorized to perform in this Agreement.
