Substitute Teaching Assignment. The District may request the reassignment of a qualified council member to a short-term substitute teaching assignment as determined by the administration to be in the best interest of the students. The para council member has the right to decline the reassignment. Para council members reassigned as a substitute teacher shall be paid $36.00 per hour if the para is a licensed teacher and $26.00 per hour if the para has their substitute certification. Pay for substitute teaching will include the employee portion of TRS up to 9.0%. If an AV Technician subs for the Manager or Assistant Manager in the event of an absence they will be compensated an additional $1.50 per hour for every hour they sub.
Substitute Teaching Assignment. Educational support staff who are qualified to substitute teach are occasionally asked to substitute in the classroom for a certified teacher, usually in an emergency. When this occurs, the support staff employee must: A. Secure the supervisor’s approval to be away from his or her regular job; B. Report/record the time out in 45 minute increments for each class period; and C. Report/record back in, if applicable, that day. Support staff members who substitute teach will be paid for that time at the per period substitute rate or at his or her regularly hourly rate, whichever is higher. Time worked as a substitute teacher will count as hours worked for overtime pay purposes. The District recognizes and values the support staff employee’s willingness to assist in a substitute emergency.

The paraprofessional has the right to decline the reassignment. Paraprofessionals reassigned as a substitute teacher shall be paid $20.00 per teaching hour ($100.00 per day), or at their paraprofessional rate of pay (daily rate), whichever is greater.

  • Teaching Assignments No employee shall be assigned to teach in a grade level and/or subject area not within the scope of his/her teaching certificate, except where a position within his/her certification is unavailable or when mutually agreed to by the affected employee and principal, or when determined necessary by the principal. Employees assigned to positions outside the scope of their certificates shall be assigned as soon as possible to positions for which they hold certification.

Any subcontracts shall include such language as may be required in various clauses contained within this Contract, exhibits, and attachments. The Contract shall not be assigned until all approvals, documents, and affidavits are completed and properly registered. The State shall not be responsible for fulfillment of the Contractor’s obligations to its subcontractors.

  • Substitute Teachers 21.01 A substitute teacher is employed by the Division either to replace a regular teacher or fulfill an assignment which is less than twenty (20) consecutive days in duration. 21.02 Upon commencement of the sixth (6th) day of substitute teaching in the same assignment, a substitute teacher shall be paid for each day taught at the per diem rate (to be calculated as 1/x of the salary to which a teacher of the same qualifications and experience would be entitled under the basic salary schedule of the current collective agreement, where x equals the number of days in the current school year). The Association shall indemnify and save harmless the Division from any and all losses, costs, liabilities or expenses suffered or sustained by the Division as a result of any claim or legal action arising from the deduction of local Association fees or Manitoba Teachers’ Society Fees. 21.05 A substitute teacher who has been employed for at least nine (9) consecutive days of substitute teaching in the same assignment in a school year shall be entitled to one (1) day of sick leave with pay for each nine (9) days taught in that assignment. ▇▇▇▇ leave shall not accumulate from assignment to assignment. The use of sick leave with pay shall not constitute an interruption of the substitute teaching assignment. 21.06 If a substitute teacher is absent from a period of substitute teaching on account of bereavement leave granted in accordance with Board practice or policy, and that substitute teacher returns to the same substitute teaching assignment immediately following the period of bereavement, the period of leave shall not constitute an interruption of the substitute teaching assignment. 21.07 The provisions of the Collective Agreement do not apply to substitute teachers except as expressly provided for in Article 21 – Substitute Teachers: Article 1 – Obligation To Act Fairly Article 2 – Purpose
