Common use of TEACHING ASSIGNMENTS, TRANSFERS, AND POSTINGS Clause in Contracts

TEACHING ASSIGNMENTS, TRANSFERS, AND POSTINGS. 1. A teacher who desires a change in grade and/or subject assignments in his/her own building shall file a written request with his/her building principal. 2. Any teacher to whom the District has an obligation to increase up to his/her original FTE must notify the Human Resources Administrator by March 15 of the year prior to placement. 3. Teachers shall be notified in writing of any changes in their assignments for the ensuing school year, including the schools to which they will be assigned, the grades and/or subjects that they will teach and any special or unusual classes or assignments that they will have, as soon as practicable and under normal circumstances not later than August 1, provided that in the event of a change in circumstances or conditions subsequent to August 1 (e.g. resignation) such assignments may be changed as required to meet the situation. The teacher shall be informed of the reasons for any changes that become necessary after August 1. 4. In arranging schedules for teachers who are assigned to more than one school, an effort will be made to limit the amount of inter-school travel. Such teachers shall be notified of any change in their schedules as soon as practicable.
