Temperature Sensors Clause Samples
The Temperature Sensors clause establishes requirements for the installation, maintenance, or use of temperature monitoring devices within a specified context, such as a building or a piece of equipment. It typically outlines the types of sensors to be used, their placement, calibration standards, and reporting protocols to ensure accurate temperature readings. By setting these standards, the clause helps ensure safety, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency by providing reliable temperature data and preventing equipment failure or unsafe conditions.
Temperature Sensors. Temperature sensors shall be RTDs or thermistors. Sensor Time Constant shall not exceed 5 seconds for a 60% response to a step change in temperature. Sensor repeatability shall be 0 ºF or better.
a. Outside air temperature sensor elements for each of the controllers shall be accurate within +0.5 ºF over a range from -20 ºF to 120 ºF.
b. Duct sensors shall be of the averaging type. Element length shall be adequate for sensing the average cross-sectional temperature over the full duct cross-section.
Temperature Sensors a) Platinum 100 ohm resistance thermal detectors (RTD sensors) are to be installed in the lower one third part of the tank. For batch systems, the requirement is at least two sensors per tank.
b) The hot water tank must be designed to accommodate the temporary placement of numerous portable sensors or probes to be used during the testing procedure required for certification or re- certification. During this procedure, the portable sensors will be positioned and evenly spaced throughout the load of mangoes, at the direction of the APHIS Inspector who conducts the performance test. Each facility is recommended to have available, 24 portable termistor or thermocouple sensors, 12 per tank (each with its own flexible cord at least 10 ft. in length) and a hand- held digital and portable monitor to measure pulp and water temperatures which reads to the nearest one tenth of a degree.
c) Each treatment facility is required to have at least one high-accuracy, water-immersible and certified thermometer, either mercury stick, non-mercury or, digital, and available on the premises at all times. It will be used as the standard against which all sensors are calibrated. The certification should be valid. This thermometer shall be accurate to 0.1 degree F (or ºC), and will cover the range between 113ºF and 118ºF (45 con el propósito de asegurar una temperatura uniforme del agua durante todo el proceso de tratamiento. La fruta debe mantenerse al menos a 4 pulgadas (10.2 cm.) bajo la superficie del agua durante el tratamiento, utilizando una ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ de flotación.

Temperature Sensors. The packaging for the temperature sensors shall meet the minimum requirements of ASME NQA-1, Para 302.3 Level B [ACS- 1], for overseas shipment. For temperature sensors, any open ends shall be properly cleaned and then securely fitted with plastic or wooden caps. A method of moisture control shall be provided for the packaging of the temperature sensors. The temperature sensor shall then be enclosed in clean, heavy-duty plastic and openings tightly sealed. Small openings shall be sealed by use of small light stainless-steel metal or plastic inserts pressed in and retained with a seal of waterproof tape 8 Scope of Supply This section defines the specific scope of work, in addition to the contract execution requirement as defined in [AD- 1].
Temperature Sensors. Temperature measurements shall be based on RTD Pt100 sensor installed either in thermowell or on the pipe surface as per [AD- 3]. The sensor to thermowell connection is defined in [AD- 3]. For sensor uncertainty, at least Class A according to IEC 60751 [ACS- 7] is requested. A time response ≤ 27 s is requested for the sensor (including the thermowell, if the RTD is mounted in a thermowell). The sensors are generally not insulated except for SIC sensors (depending on the location of the sensor). The surface sensors are installed below the fire insulation of the piping. No dedicated power supply shall be required for the sensors. The field instruments shall be certified at least to the degree of protection IP68 and the components installed inside the signal conditioning cubicles shall be certified to the degree of protection IP20 or better according to IEC 60529 [ACS- 34].

c) A los tanques no se les permite tener ningún punto de control que sea más bajo que la temperatura de tratamiento estándar para el producto que está siendo tratado (115ºF o 46.1ºC en el caso de mangos).
