Temporary Hours Reductions. In the event of a temporary drop in census or other economic conditions which causes the Employer to reduce hours for a period of time not to exceed sixty (60) days, hours by department and shift of less senior employees will be reduced or cut first consistent with patient care needs. The Employer may seek volunteers first before reducing hours by seniority. Senior employees may have to change shifts during such temporary reduction of hours.
Temporary Hours Reductions. In the event that it becomes necessary to temporarily reduce hours shift-to-shift based on daily census fluctuations, it shall be by shift within the affected classification as follows: 1. Individuals receiving overtime and/or shift pick-up bonuses on that shift by reverse seniority 2. Volunteer by seniority rotation 3. PRNs and other part-time non-bargaining unit employees 4. Pick up shifts not receiving overtime or bonuses by reverse seniority 5. Lowest senior is called off/sent home. The Work Site Leaders may request on a daily basis the employees affected and the hours that have been reduced.

  • Temporary Layoffs A. The Employer may initiate a temporary layoff for up to twelve (12) working days per fiscal year. Employees will be given thirty (30) days’ notice before the effective date of a temporary layoff. Employees may request alternative temporary layoff days from their manager or supervisor and any requests will be considered and approved or denied in writing. B. A temporary layoff will not affect an employee’s incremental movement, vacation and sick leave accrual rates, or seniority. C. A temporary layoff is leave without pay. An employee may not use any leave for a temporary layoff day(s).

  • Temporary Layoff The Employer may temporarily layoff an employee for up to ninety (90) days due to an unanticipated loss of funding, revenue shortfall, lack of work, shortage of material or equipment, or other unexpected or unusual reasons. An employee will normally receive seven (7) days notice of a temporary layoff.

  • Temporary Upgrade An employee in a temporary upgrade status shall have no right to grieve or arbitrate release from such temporary upgrade status.
