Common use of Three Shift Operation Clause in Contracts

Three Shift Operation. On a three-shift operation, the following shall apply: First Shift - The regular hours of work on the first shift of three shift operations shall be eight (8) hours of continuous employment, except for lunch period at mid-shift, between the hours of 4:00 am and 6:00 p.m. Second Shift - The second shift shall be seven and one-half (7-1/2) hours of continuous employment, except for lunch period at mid- shift, and shall be paid for at eight (8) times the straight time hourly wage rate. Third Shift - The third shift shall consist of seven (7) consecutive hours of employment, except for lunch period at mid-shift, and shall be paid for at eight (8) times the straight time hourly wage rate.
