Common use of Time Off in Lieu of Overtime Payment Clause in Contracts

Time Off in Lieu of Overtime Payment. Instead of cash payment for overtime an employee may choose to receive time off in lieu. Time off in lieu shall be calculated as the monetary value of the employee's overtime worked divided by the employee’s regular straight time rate. Time off in lieu shall not accumulate beyond the equivalent of one normal work week, and shall be taken at a time that is mutually agreeable to the employee and the Corporation. Overtime shall be paid as per Article 12.04 unless specifically allocated by the employee to time off in lieu at the time the overtime is worked.
