TRANSFER WITHIN DEPARTMENT Clause Samples

The "Transfer Within Department" clause establishes the conditions under which an employee may be reassigned to a different position or role within the same department of an organization. Typically, this clause outlines the process for initiating a transfer, such as requiring management approval or specifying eligibility criteria, and may address how seniority, pay, or job responsibilities are affected by such a move. Its core practical function is to provide flexibility for both the employer and employee, facilitating internal mobility while ensuring that departmental needs and organizational policies are maintained.
TRANSFER WITHIN DEPARTMENT. An employee desiring transfer to another position within the Department may request consideration for transfer by memo to the designated Department Personnel Officer. When a vacancy occurs, all eligible employees who have requested transfer shall be notified and given consideration for transfer whenever the employee indicates interest in the particular vacancy available. Written requests for intra-department transfer may be renewed after one year.
