UNION SECURITY AND DUES. (a) All bargaining unit associates shall become and remain members in good standing of the Union as a condition of employment. (b) The Company shall remit to the Union, the United Food and Commercial Workers Canada, Local 175 Membership Application Form which the Company shall have signed by all new associates at time of hiring. The Company shall forward such forms with the next dues remittance. (c) The Company shall collect membership initiation fees as may be established by the Union and forward such fees with the regular monthly dues remittance. 5.02 The Company agrees to deduct from the wages of each associate in the bargaining unit the regular union dues according to the local Union bylaws as certified by the Union in writing. 5.03 Such deductions shall be made bi-weekly from the wages owing each associate in the bargaining unit. The remittance statement shall contain the full name, S.I.N., the amount deducted (or the reason the deduction was not made). The dues and initiation report will be provided in the form of e-mail (▇▇▇▇▇@▇▇▇▇▇▇▇.▇▇▇) or on computer diskette as well as a hard copy of the dues report being attached to the remittance cheque. 5.04 The Union shall indemnify and save harmless the Company, its agents and/or associates acting on behalf of the Company, from any and all claims, demands, actions or causes of action arising out of, or in any way connected with the collection and remittance of such dues. 5.05 The Union shall provide the Company with thirty (30) days’ written notice of any increase or decrease in the amount of dues to be deducted from the bargaining unit associates. 5.06 The Company agrees to acquaint new associates with the fact that a union agreement is in effect and the fact that they are covered by that agreement. The Company agrees to provide a new associate with a list of union stewards and their department locations on the new associate’s first day of employment. If a ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ is available at the time of the store tour, the Company will undertake to introduce the new associate to that ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇. 5.07 The Company agrees that co-operative work program students will not perform bargaining unit work unless a bargaining unit associate is scheduled and working in the same scheduling area during such time. All students employed in a co-operative training program will be given a distinctive ribbon to distinguish them from regular associates.

UNION SECURITY AND DUES. 7.01 All new employees will be required to become a member of the Union upon commencing employment. During the life of this Agreement, the Employer will deduct from the earnings of each employee covered by this Agreement, Union initiation fees and dues prescribed by the constitution and by-laws of the Union. Union dues will be deducted on a bi-weekly basis. For each calendar month, the Employer shall remit by cheque or a mutually acceptable method to the Financial Secretary of the Union, the total of the deductions made, which shall be remitted by the twentieth (20th) day of the following month. This shall be accompanied by a list of all employees in the bargaining unit identifying what, if any, dues have been deducted. The list will also contain those employees who have had no dues deducted and, by reference to the criteria in 7.05 below, the reasons no deductions have made.
7.02 The Financial Secretary of the Union will advise the Employer in writing of the amount of its initiation fees and dues. The amount so advised shall continue to be deducted until changed by a further written notice to the Employer. Any altered deduction amount will be applicable thirty (30) calendar days after the date of notice of change.
7.03 The Union and the employees agree to save the Employer harmless and to indemnify the Employer with respect to any claim made against the Employer by the Union, the employee or group of employees arising out of the deduction of union dues as herein provided.
7.04 The Employer will indicate on employees’ T4 slips a statement of the annual Union dues which have been deducted.
7.05 The Employer will supply to the Union once per quarter, as it relates to the bargaining unit, (at least twenty (20) days into the following month) a list, in Excel format, of:
(a) All employees, with their hours worked and status;
(b) Employees who acquired seniority;
(c) Name of employee transferred into or out of the bargaining unit associates shall become on each day an employee is transferred;
(d) Employees on leave of absence;
(e) Employees on sickness and remain members accident and/or Workplace Safety and Insurance Compensation (in good standing excess of five (5) calendar days);
(f) Employees on layoff;
(g) Employees who have lost seniority;
(h) Employees who have been discharged;
(i) The names, email addresses (where available), addresses, postal codes, cell (where available) and home telephone numbers of all employees;
(j) An alphabetical listing, by classification showing all full-time and part-time employees.
7.06 The Employer will supply to the Union as Union, when requested, within five (5) business days:
(a) A list of all employees that have posted to a condition of employment.new job posting and the successful applicant;
(b) The Company shall remit successful applicant to the Union, the United Food and Commercial Workers Canada, Local 175 Membership Application Form which the Company shall have signed by all new associates at time of hiring. The Company shall forward such forms with the next dues remittance.every shift bid;
(c) The Company shall collect membership initiation fees Any temporary contract position as may be established by defined in Article 22, including but not limited to the Union name of the member who is on the Leave that created the vacancy and forward such fees the ‘home position’ of the member filling the vacancy;
(d) To assist with the regular monthly dues remittance.
5.02 The Company agrees to deduct from the wages of each associate in the bargaining unit the regular union dues according to the local Union bylaws as certified by the Union in writing.

The dues and initiation report will be provided in the form of e-mail (▇▇▇▇▇@▇▇▇▇▇▇▇.▇▇▇) or on computer diskette as well as a hard copy of the dues report being attached to the remittance cheque.
