Common use of Union Shop Stewards Clause in Contracts

Union Shop Stewards. Immediately after appointment of its shop ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇(s), the Union must furnish the City Director of Labor Relations and the Court Administrator with a list of those employees who have been designated as shop stewards. Failure to do so will result in non-recognition by the Employer of the appointed shop stewards. Such list will also be updated as needed. Shop stewards will be regular full-time employees and will perform their regular duties as such but will function as the Union's representative on the job solely to inform the Union of any alleged violations of this Agreement and process grievances relating thereto. The shop ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ will be allowed reasonable time, at the discretion of the Employer, to process contract grievances during regular working hours. 14.2.1 Shop stewards will not be discriminated against for making a complaint or giving evidence with respect to an alleged violation of any provision of this Agreement, but under no circumstances will shop stewards interfere with orders of the Employer or change working conditions.
