4.06 Certified Health and Safety Representative Any worker acting as the designated Certified Health and Safety Representative or certified alternate as defined by the occupational health and safety act shall be treated the same as chief stewards for purposes of layoff. Providing he/she is qualified to perform the remaining work the designated certified health and safety representative or certified alternate shall be the last to be laid off prior to the chief ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇. This article only applies to the Hydro One direct hire workforce and there will only be one (1) Certified Health and Safety Representative per zone (i.e. 4 for Hydro One in total).

Union Stewards. 6.1 The Accredited (A) Upon execution of this Agreement, the Union Representatives shall inform promptly furnish the appropriate EPSCA Representative Division Manager, in writing, the name(s) of the Union ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇(s). Thereafter, the Union shall promptly advise the Division Manager, in writing, of any change in Stewards. No ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ will be recognized as such by the Company prior to receipt of written notice of notification. 2. Meetings scheduled at the unilateral request of the Union – the Union shall compensate all attendees from the Union. Such meetings involve ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ training, Union Elections, Union Conferences, etc.
3. Meetings scheduled at the unilateral request of the Company – The Company shall compensate all attendees from the Union. Such meetings involve:
a. Periodic or special communications meetings called by management for the purpose of communications of Company events, policies or plans.
b. Shop Stewards called in by the Company when requested by an employee to be present for investigations that may result in discipline. When requested by the employee, the Company will notify the shop ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ on duty prior to starting the investigation.
c. To discuss safety hazards and/or make safety recommendations to the management of his/her area.
(C) With prior notice to and with permission of the Union ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇’▇ Branch Manager and subject to other provisions of this agreement, the Union ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ shall be authorized to meet with employees to respond to requests, complaints, and/or grievances/grievance investigations on Company time The Company shall be obligated to relieve from duty and compensate at straight time rates the ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇(s) involved in these activities.
(D) The scope of the Stewards activities on Company time shall be limited to the following:
1) To consult with an employee regarding the presentation of a request or clarification concerning this Agreement, complaint, or grievance which the employee desires the ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ to be present.
2) To investigate a complaint or grievance of record before presentation.
3) To present a request concerning this Agreement, complaint, or grievance to an employee's Supervisor in an attempt to settle the matter for the employee or group of employees who may be similarly affected.
4) For discussions with Stewards of the authorized Business Representative of the Union on employee complaints or grievances or on matters arising out of the application of this Agreement.
(E) It is agreed that a ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ may receive, but not solicit, grievances from employees. For purpose of this agreement, the term "solicit" means the ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ will receive grievances from employees and not petition for grievances. However, this does not limit the ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ from notifying the employee(s) that he/she has been grieved due to a breach or violation of this agreement. The Union recognizes and agrees that a ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ will carry out his/her duties with a minimum of interference with the orderly progress of Company work. Where necessary, the Stewards work schedule or assignment will be adjusted where practical, to allow for time to conduct Company – Union business as specified below:
1) The parties agree that the union official as defined in Article 3, Section 1 B for the affected employee may attend the grievance meeting. If the employee’s ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ is unavailable, a ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ from another Branch may represent the employee in the grievance meeting. 7.04 One (1) Union stewards will be provided with three (3) paid leave days per year to attend union sponsored education courses.
7.05 Where an employee is required to attend a meeting in which a written warning, suspension, or discharge is to be given, the Supervisor or designate will inform the employee prior to the meeting of OPG, his right to have a union ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ Power L.P. or Hydro Onepresent at the meeting. Union Stewards. 6.1 (a) The Accredited Hospital agrees to recognize Union Representatives Stewards to be elected or appointed from amongst employees in the bargaining unit who have completed their probationary period for the purpose of dealing with Union business as provided under this Collective Agreement.
(b) The Hospital shall inform be advised in writing of the appropriate EPSCA Representative names of the Stewards and the Employer members of the Negotiating and Grievance Committees and shall be notified in writing of any changes made from time to time. 6.2 7.2 The Union shall receive written notice before the employment of a ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ is terminated by his Employer, and provided the ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ is able to perform the work required, he will be the last employee to be retained by his Employer in a layoff/standoff situation.
6.3 7.3 The chief ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ will be informed of all scheduled overtime. Where practical, a ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇, in accordance with practices set out in individual trade appendices, shall be given the first opportunity to work the overtime providing he is qualified to perform the work.
6.4 7.4 No ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ or subforeman shall be permitted to act as a ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇.

The Company reserves the right to limit the duration of such meetings. These limits shall not be unreasonable.
7.03 The Company acknowledges the right of the Union to appoint or elect up to six (6) employees to serve as members of the negotiating committee and only one
(1) person from any given work location. Employees will be paid by the Company for time off work for the purpose of participating in mutually agreed negotiations up to and including conciliation.
7.04 Where an employee is required to attend a meeting in which a written warning, suspension, or discharge is to be given, the Supervisor or designate will inform the employee prior to the meeting of his right to have a Union ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ is an present at the meeting. The employee may request the presence of OPG, the Union ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ Power L.P. or Hydro Oneduring the meeting. 6.3 7.05 Copies of all written disciplinary notices issued to bargaining unit members shall be forwarded to the Union's Business Agent.
