In addition, an employee serving on the Union’s Central Negotiating Committee shall be paid for time lost from his normal straight time working hours at his regular rate of pay and without loss of leave credits for (as set out in Local ProvisionsAppendix- employees selected by two) days of preparation time for such central negotiating meetings with the Union who have completed their probationary period. To be eligible to be recognized as a Committee member or a ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ an area within The Health Centre in which he is not originally employed, he shall report his presence to the supervisor employee must have completed her probationary period and have acquired seniority in the area immediately upon entering it. If the properly classified ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ for an employee is unavailable, the employee, for the purposes set out in the grievance procedure, may request of her immediate Supervisor that the Chief ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ be permitted to assist the employee with her grievance. If the Chief ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ is unavailable, the employee may request of her immediate Supervisor that another ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ be permitted to assist the employee with her grievance.
(d) Regular meetings between the Stewards and not morethan (as set out in Local ProvisionsAppendix- employees selected Management will be held monthly unless otherwise arranged and more frequently if arranged by the Union who have completed their probationary periodmutual consent. Minutes will be kept of each meeting and copies will be approved by both parties. A general Union representative of may, by mutual agreement between the Union parties, attend such meetings.
(e) It is understood that the Hospital may be present bring forward, at any meeting held with the Union Committee, any complaint with respect to the conduct of the Committee. (a) The parties mutually agree that there are matters that would be beneficial if discussed at a Labour-Management Committee Meeting during the t e n of this Agreement. The Committee shall be comprised of an equal number of representatives of each party as mutually agreed and shall meet at a time and place mutually satisfactory. The Committee shall meet once every two (2) months, unless agreed otherwise. A request for a meeting made in writing at least fourteen (14) days prior to the date proposed and accompanied by an agenda of matters proposed to be discussed. Where a Hospital has two or more agreements with then a joint committee shall represent all units unless otherwise agreed. The following provision applies to any reorganization or restructuring which occurs on or after July In the event of reorganization or restructuring of the Hospital, which will have potential adverse effects upon employees in the bargaining unit, the parties agree that they will discuss possible ways and means of avoiding or minimizing the impact, including: identifying and proposing possible alternatives to any action that the Hospital may propose taking; identifying and seeking ways to address on-the-job retraining needs of employees; identifying vacant positions within the Hospital for which surplus members of the bargaining unit might qualify, or such positions which are currently filled but which are expected to become vacant within a twelve (12) month period. To allow the Labour Management Committee to carry out its mandated role under this Article (8.03 the Hospital will provide the Committee with pertinent financial and staffing and with a copy of any reorganization plans which impact on the bargaining unit.

Upon reference to arbitration, the Nego- tiating Committee members shall receive unpaid time off for the purpose of attending arbitration hearings. It is understood and agreed that the maximum number of Union Central Negotiating Committee members entitled to payment under this provision shall be seven, and in no case will more than one employee from a hospital be entitled to such payment. Union Stewards. The Health Centre agrees Company shall a reasonable number of Union Stewards who may present employees' grievances to recognize the representatives of the Company. The number of such Stewards and the Department or zone within which each ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ is to function is determined as specified in of this Article It is mutually agreed that all regular employees shall be eligible to serve as Stewards or Members of the Grievance Committee providing such employee has not less than twelve months seniority.
