Vacation Based on Service Clause Samples

The "Vacation Based on Service" clause establishes that an employee's entitlement to vacation time increases according to their length of service with the employer. Typically, this means that employees who have worked for the company longer receive more vacation days than newer employees; for example, an employee might earn two weeks of vacation per year during their first five years, and three weeks thereafter. This clause ensures a fair and motivating system for vacation accrual, rewarding employee loyalty and tenure while providing clear guidelines for both employees and employers.
Vacation Based on Service. The amount of vacation that employees will be entitled to is based on their years of service with the Employer and is prorated in the first (1st) year from date of hire to December 31st. For greater clarification, temporary service is not included in the calculation of “Years of Service”.
Vacation Based on Service. Vacation entitlements for full-time regular employees will be advanced in January of the calendar year it is earned, and it will be prorated for new hires based on the year of hire service. Where an employee changes employment status during a calendar year, the Company will advise the employee of any outstanding pay or time off balances and the employee’s new vacation pay and time off will be pro-rated as applicable. In no case will an employee receive greater than one (1) year’s total entitlement in a calendar year.

  • Vacation Pay on Termination An employee whose employment is terminated shall receive vacation pay at the appropriate percentage of the wages or salary earned during the period of entitlement in accordance with the employee's years of service.

  • Vacation Buy Back Employees shall have the option of requesting pay in lieu of time off up to a maximum of 144 hours of vacation time each year, during each year of the contract in increments of eight (8) hrs. Such requests are subject to the approval of the department head and the availability of funds.

  • Vacation Accrual Rates Laid off employees who are re-employed shall have the vacation accrual rate they held immediately prior to layoff restored.

  • Vacation Bank Vacation entitlement is determined by Article 13. For the purposes of Article 13, hours worked or credited as paid leave will be based on an accelerated rate of 1.25 hours credit for each hour worked. Mechanism for the vacation bank is determined by current local practices. Drawing from the vacation bank will occur at an accelerated rate of 1.25 paid hours for every hour taken as vacation (i.e. 11.25 hours worked equals 14.05 hours paid; 7.5 hours worked equals 9.375 hours paid). Vacation must be taken as a full weekend off (i.e. Saturday and Sunday). The maximum number of weekends off cannot exceed the week entitlement level determined by Article 13. Single vacation days may be taken on weekdays, which need not be in conjunction with the Saturday and Sunday. Vacation – Interruption does not apply.
