Common use of Work on a Recognized Holiday Clause in Contracts

Work on a Recognized Holiday. Holiday work shall be rotated by the Employer among full‐ and part‐time employees to the extent possible. Regular supplemental, part‐time and full‐time employees required to work an eight (8) hour shift on a recognized holiday (New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day (July 4), Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day) shall be paid at one and one‐half (1‐½) times their hourly rate. The holiday time and one‐half premium is only paid for those hours on a ten (10) or twelve (12) hour shift which fall on the twenty‐four (24) hour holiday period.

Regular supplemental, part‐time part-time and full‐time employees full- time nurses required to work an eight (8) hour shift on a recognized holiday (New Year’s 's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day (July 4), Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day) shall be paid at one and one‐half one-half (1‐½1-½) times their hourly rate. The holiday Holiday time and one‐half one-half premium is only paid for those hours on a ten (10) or twelve (12) hour shift which actually fall on during the twenty‐four (24) twenty-four hour holiday period.
