Work Week and Hours. The basic 40-hour workweek is scheduled on five days, normally Monday through Friday, and the working hours are the same each day.

All employees of the District can request such schedule and the District agrees that the requests will not be unreasonably denied. Participation in the Flex Schedule affects the schedules of others; therefore, once established, changes in flex scheduling can only be changed if approved by the Department Head and General Manager. Each employee requesting to work an Alternative Work Week must complete an Alternate Schedule Authorization form before participating in the plan and submit the form to Payroll one full pay period prior to beginning any alternative work schedule.

The regularly scheduled work week for all full-time employees shall consist of forty (40) hours beginning at 12:01 a.m. Monday, and ending one hundred sixty-eight (168) hours thereafter. B. The normal work day shall be nine (9) consecutive hours, which shall include one (1) hour of unpaid free time. C. Overtime rates will be paid as follows: 1. Time and one-half (1-1/2) will be paid for all time worked in excess of forty (40) hours in a work week. (a) Hours for which holiday pay, vacation pay or sick leave pay is received shall count toward the total of forty (40) hours. 2. Whenever an employee is required to return to work after the completion of his regularly scheduled working hours, he/she shall receive pay for the actual time worked at time and one-half (1-1/2) his/her regular rate, or a minimum of two (2) hours pay at his straight time hourly rate, whichever is the greater. Per past practice, this standard does not apply to Kindergarten runs. D. Overtime shall be divided and rotated as equally as possible within the building and among those employees who regularly perform such work, provided they are qualified to perform such work. Equalization of overtime shall mean on an annual basis (a particular daily assignment does not have to be split to comply with Contract language). All overtime shall be allocated on a need basis as determined by the Board or its designee.

The normal work week shall be 35 hours, unless otherwise stipulated as a result of City negotiations. c. The work schedule for those Authority employees assigned to project management offices shall be an 8:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. shift. The length of the lunch period shall be one hour. Notwithstanding the provisions of the foregoing, those eligible employees covered by Article 8 of this Agreement, which pertains to a summer schedule, shall continue to work a 9:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. shift. The parties agree that the foregoing shall not apply to those employees assigned to Central Office.

  • Work Week and Work Day (a) (Applicable to full-time employees only) The normal or standard work week shall be an average of thirty-seven and one-half (37½) hours, with a normal or standard work day of seven and one-half (7½) hours except in those Hospitals where agreements already provide a standard or normal work week of less than thirty-seven and one-half (37½) hours per week and seven and one-half (7½) hours per day. (Those Hospitals with the lesser required hours shall reflect in the salary rates a pro-rata lesser amount compared with salaries for other Hospitals based on the ratio that the standard or normal hours of work at the Hospital concerned are to thirty-seven and one-half (37½) hours and shall appropriately reflect such hours in this Article). The length of time over which the hours of work per week are to be averaged shall be determined locally and shall be set out in the Local Provisions Appendix. (b) (applicable to part-time employees only) The normal or standard work day shall be seven and one-half (7½) hours per day and the normal or standard full- time work week shall be an average of thirty-seven and one- half (37½) hours per week except in those hospitals where agreements already provide a normal or standard work day of less than seven and one-half hours and a normal or standard full-time work week of less than thirty-seven and one-half (37½) hours. (Those Hospitals with the lesser required hours shall reflect in the salary rates a pro-rata lesser amount compared with salaries for other Hospitals based on the ratio that the standard or normal hours work at the Hospital concerned are to thirty-seven and one-half (37½) hours and shall appropriately reflect such hours in this article.) Part-time employees shall be entitled to overtime pay at the rate of time and one-half their regular straight time hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of the normal or standard work day or in excess of the normal or standard full-time work week. The length of time over which the hours of work per week are to be averaged shall be determined locally and shall be set out in the Local Provisions Appendix. (c) Where the Hospital and the Union agree, subject to the approval of the Ministry of Labour, other arrangements regarding hours of work may be entered into between parties on a local level with respect to tours beyond the normal or standard work day in accordance with the provisions set out in Article 25.01 of the collective agreement.

  • DAYS AND HOURS OF WORK The standard workweek for workers occupying full-time positions consists of 40 hours unless otherwise specified by the Board of Supervisors. The appointing authority shall fix the hours of work with due regard for the convenience of the public and the laws of the State and the County. Workers occupying part-time positions shall work such hours and schedules as the Board and the appointing authority shall prescribe.

  • Work Hours Except in emergencies, the standard work week of full-time unit employees shall normally consist of five (5) days of eight (8) hours each, exclusive of lunch hour. Each employee shall be assigned regular starting and ending times, which shall not be changed without prior notice. Should an employee be required to work during his/her lunch hour, the length of such interruption shall be counted as time worked unless other arrangements are made with his/her supervisor.

  • Overtime Hours Except as otherwise provided in this section, all hours worked in excess of the established work day, before or after an employee's regular scheduled shift, or on any regularly scheduled day off, shall be considered overtime. All paid vacation time, paid holidays, paid sick leave, compensatory time off, and paid leaves of absence shall be considered as "time worked" for purposes of this Article. Part-time employees whose established work day is less than eight (8) hours shall not be considered to be working overtime until having completed eight (8) hours of work.
