Working Out of Class Pay. In order for a bargaining unit employee to receive working out of class pay all of the following criteria must be met: A. The bargaining unit employee must be assigned to a higher classification whose salary range is at least five percent (5%) higher than the range of the bargaining unit employee’s regular classification. B. The assignment must be to a vacant permanent position or to a permanent position whose incumbent is absent from work. C. The assignment must be for over twenty (20) consecutive working days. D. The bargaining unit employee must perform all of the duties of the higher classification. For working out of class the bargaining unit employee shall be compensated at the step in the higher classification that provides an increase to the assigned bargaining unit employee of at least five percent (5%). Such compensation shall begin on the twenty-first (21st) working day after the assignment to the higher classification.
