Common use of Alternative Assignments Clause in Contracts

Alternative Assignments. Faculty members may be assigned to perform duties or provide services to the College in areas different from their primary employment responsibilities. When it is in the best interest of the College to retain the services of a faculty member for such an alternative assignment, compensation shall be at the appropriate overload rate or in the form of a reduced load. It is the intent of the College to maximize each faculty member's primary assignment. Reduced loads shall only be awarded after all other avenues of accomplishing the desired objectives have been explored. All alternative assignments shall be in accord with the provisions of Section 0110.4 of this Agreement. A copy of the faculty member's Alternative Assignment shall be forwarded to the Associate Vice President of Human Resources and the President of the WCCEA. 0117 Curriculum Committee 0117.1 The Curriculum Committee shall be a standing committee.
