Associate Producer. The Associate Producer functions under the direction and authority of a Producer. The Producer has the authority and the responsibility for the program, program series or program segment. The Associate Producer works on the preparation and presentation of program material, including the direction of material and talent for programs and program segments. The Associate Producer proposes, develops and edits material for broadcast, An Associate Producer who is temporarily assigned the duties and responsibilities of a Producer shall be upgraded to the higher category and shall be paid at that level for the duration of the assignment. Such temporary upgrading will require the prior approval of the appropriate program manager.
