Building Checks Clause Samples
The 'Building Checks' clause establishes the requirement for inspections or assessments of a building, typically to ensure compliance with safety, quality, or contractual standards. In practice, this clause may specify who is responsible for conducting the checks, the frequency or timing of inspections, and the standards or criteria to be used. Its core function is to ensure that the building meets agreed-upon requirements and to identify and address any issues early, thereby reducing the risk of defects or non-compliance.
Building Checks. Employees assigned to perform building checks shall be paid for a minimum of one (1) hour at a rate of time and one-half their regular hourly rate. Employees assigned to perform building checks on a holiday shall be paid for a minimum of one (1) hour at a rate of double time of the employee’s regular hourly rate. If emergency circumstances are found to exist during the building check, the employee is to contact the building principal, physical plant director or assistant director to report the situation. Any additional time worked beyond one hour requires prior approval of the Physical Plant Director/Designee.
Building Checks. When an employee is required by the District to return to the employee’s building site outside of the employee’s regular workday, the employee shall be paid for a minimum of two (2) hours. Overtime will be paid when applicable.
Building Checks. A Maintenance person shall be responsible for checking the heating system and building security according to the schedule provided by the Director of Facilities Management. This function shall not be counted as days or hours worked. Pay shall be three (3) hours at time and one-half (1-1/2) for each day the service is performed, such time as shall be actually worked and approved, whichever is greater.
Building Checks. Shall be paid at a minimum of two hours each day a building check is required. Building checks shall be conducted on a seniority rotation basis by personnel having the necessary skills as determined by the Supervisor of Buildings and Grounds. Employees are expected to perform one hour of work if needed, as determined by the Supervisor, to receive the minimum payment.
Building Checks. Employees required to check buildings shall be paid for all hours worked, but not less than:
a. One (1) hour for checking one (1) or two (2) buildings.
b. Two (2) hours for checking three (3) or four (4) buildings.
c. Three (3) hours for checking five (5) or more buildings.
d. When an employee utilizes his personal vehicle in the checking of more than one building the employee will be reimbursed in accordance with the rate set forth in provision 9.3 for the total miles traveled less the miles to and from the employee’s residence to the building being checked which is closest to the employee’s residence.
Building Checks. The School Plant Engineer, or his/her employee designee, of each building of the School District where regular operational personnel are not assigned for regular Saturday, Sunday and holiday work will be paid time and one-half of the employee’s rate for the following times: Class C (Elementary) Schools 30 Minutes Class B (Middle) Schools 45 Minutes Class A (Central Middle & High School) Schools 1 Hr. to 1 Hr. 15 Minutes for each complete building check when assigned. Building checks shall be made between the hours of 6:00 A.M. and 8:00 P.M. on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. It is highly recommended these checks need to be completed in a 24- hour time period.
Building Checks. The maintenance supervisor/administration shall determine the need for building checks on week-ends, holidays, during summer months, or other days the school is not in session. Their rate of pay will equal a minimum of two (2) hour of pay per day. Any employee shall not be required to do building checks the day preceding or the day following a leave due to vacation or illness.

Building Checks. Elementary, middle school and high school custodians who may be required to work on Saturdays, Sundays or holidays to do building boiler inspection, shall be paid in accordance with Appendix A for such services in lieu of the overtime provisions set forth above. Building/boiler inspections shall be offered on the basis of seniority to custodians assigned to a particular building. If the custodian(s) assigned to that particular building decline such building/boiler checks, then it shall be open for bid to other District Custodians by seniority on a District wide basis.
