The Calamity Pay clause establishes compensation for employees who are unable to work due to extraordinary events such as natural disasters, emergencies, or other unforeseen calamities. Typically, this clause outlines the conditions under which employees are eligible for such pay, the duration for which it is provided, and any limitations or requirements, such as official declarations of emergency or proof of inability to work. Calamity Pay. A. Any employee required to work in a building during the time of an emergency created by a riot or public disturbance in the area of the building in which they are required to work, as determined by the SUPERINTENDENT, or the applicable non-Dayton Public School Chief Administrative head, requiring such building to be closed to the students and all other staff (except Administrators and Security Resource Personnel) normally assigned to the building shall be compensated at the rate of double time for all hours worked during such emergency in such building. It is understood that the EMPLOYER shall have the right to determine whether or not an employee or employees shall be required to work during such emergency in such building or be transferred to a different building. In the event the employee is transferred to a different building during the period the building to which he/she is regularly assigned is closed to students, this double time provision shall not be applicable.
Calamity Pay. Section 1. When Sandusky City and/or Erie County offices are closed due to severe weather, employees may choose to use available leave, including leaves without pay, and either not come into work or leave work early. Those employees who, nevertheless, come to work or remain at work shall receive their regular rates of pay. In the event that a level three (3) type emergency is declared and the Employer does not open, employees will be paid their regular rate of pay for their regularly scheduled hours. Section 2. In the event the Executive Director closes the entire agency, and Maintenance personnel are required to work while other employees are allowed to go home or not report to work, Maintenance personnel shall receive additional compensation at the rate of time and one half for each hour worked. A decision to close one office location, due to conditions at that site, do not apply to bargaining unit members who work at other agency locations.

  • CALAMITY DAYS A. All bargaining unit members shall be paid their appropriate rate of pay for all days or parts of a day when the school in which they are employed is closed due to an epidemic or other public calamity. 1. All bargaining unit members who are requested by the Director, Superintendent, or his designee, to report to work on a calamity day shall be paid their regular hourly rate of pay in addition to calamity day compensation or shall have the option to take compensatory time for all hours actually worked. All compensatory time must be utilized during the contract year in which it was earned. B. The Superintendent or his designee shall determine which bargaining unit members normally will be required to report to work on calamity days. Notice will be sent to those bargaining unit members at the beginning of the school year, and they shall report to work on calamity days unless notified not to do so. Other bargaining unit members will not report for work on calamity days unless called and told to do so. C. When a bargaining unit member is called in to work on a calamity day, he/she shall be paid time and one-half his regular rate of pay for those hours worked outside his normal work hours. D. Bargaining unit members who report to work because they did not receive notice of the calamity day through no fault of their own shall be paid or receive compensatory time for work performed until they are sent home. Bargaining unit members shall be given a reasonable amount of paid work time to clean up, put away, and secure equipment after being told to leave. Paid time shall be a minimum of two (2) hours at the member’s regular rate of pay. E. Calamity days shall not be counted as hours worked for the purpose of determining eligibility for overtime payment.

  • Flood If any of the Improvements are located in an area identified by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (or any successor to that agency) as a “Special Flood Hazard Area,” flood Insurance in the amount required by Lender.

  • Terrorism Insurance Insurance required under Section 6.10(a)(i) and (ii) and Section 6.10(b) will provide coverage for acts of terrorism. Terrorism coverage may be provided through one or more separate policies, which will be on terms (including amounts) consistent with those required under Section 6.10(a)(i) and (ii) and Section 6.10(b). If Insurance against acts of terrorism is not available at commercially reasonable rates and if the related hazards are not at the time commonly insured against for properties similar to the Mortgaged Property and located in or around the region in which the Mortgaged Property is located, then Lender may opt to temporarily suspend, cap or otherwise limit the requirement to have such terrorism insurance for a period not to exceed one year, unless such suspension or cap is renewed by Lender for additional one year increments.

  • Earthquake including land shock waves or tremors before, during or after a volcanic eruption;

  • Accident INVESTIGATIONS Whenever an accident occurs involving the equipment or personnel of a Supporting Party, the Protecting Party shall take immediate steps to notify the Supporting Party that an accident has occurred. As soon as practical, the Protecting Party shall initiate an investigation of the accident. A team made up of appropriate representatives from all affected agencies shall conduct the investigation. Costs for investigation personnel are Party-specific and will be borne by the sending Party. Other accident or incident investigation costs are the fiscal responsibility of the Party (ies) that has jurisdiction and/or investigative responsibility. The sharing of information between Parties on accident investigations and their findings and probable causes is a valuable tool for safety and must be encouraged.
