Classification Previously Held Clause Samples

The "Classification Previously Held" clause defines how prior classifications of information or materials are recognized and treated under the current agreement. Typically, this clause ensures that any data, documents, or assets that were previously assigned a certain classification level—such as confidential, proprietary, or public—retain that status unless explicitly reclassified. For example, if a document was marked as confidential before the agreement, it continues to be handled as confidential unless otherwise agreed. This clause helps maintain continuity and clarity in the handling of sensitive information, preventing accidental downgrading or mishandling of previously protected materials.
